This was an assignment given by our English teacher. Just a plain essay and we ( me and kai suen ) want some opinion on the essay to conclude which is better. Feel free to drop some comments .
mine :
Not everyone can leave a lasting impression on the minds of people whom associations are formed. It requires certain exceptional qualities. There are many people who are gifted with such rare qualities that makes them live for ever in the hearts of those who know them.
Some of my earliest and best memory of growing up are of my schoolmate Estelle which is an exceptionally rare person. She has influenced my life in so many ways that it is difficult to imagine life without her. My association with her began when my family came to ss2 in 2000. During this short period, she has left a deep impression on me, an testimony to the strength of her character and charm of her personality. She has always been there to share my triumphant and victories moments, and when i had my share of disappointment and frustrations, she was there with her words to enliven me.
At the age seventeen, she is no more a teenager and has the mature outlook of a person of twenty years. She is tall and fair with a graceful physical appearance. Although frugal in her expenses, she doesn't mind indulging in few luxuries, not excluding her precious eye-liner. Even though she pays heed to her appearance, she does not do it to be in the limelight.
I am impressed by her not by her beauty. I came across girls with captivating beauty ; but they have come and gone. In her case, there's something magnetic in her personality that draws me to her. Even though her attitude and mood changes like the wind blowing, she does not get into argument often. Besides that, Estelle is very much a workaholic. She is so full of life and her energy has no boundary. You will always find her in practice of her cheer leading acts or getting into social and community activities. I admire, regard and respect her because she symbolize every quality that i value most.
Generally, she is my ideal woman. She is beautiful, but she does not use it craftily for the purpose of luring men. All the same man are drawn towards her. She's aware of it ; but she does not take advantage on them. She's kind hearted and soft spoken, but if someone is indecent in his or her conversation, she could be devastatingly blunt and brutal in response.
In a nutshell, she is always warm and responsive, and always aware of my point of view, my happiness and sorrows. Being responsive and warm, her cool answer and solutions gave me a new road to walk. I really treasure her like a gold as genuine friendship is rarely experienced. She is unforgettable.
Kai Suen :
Admiring someone means you admire him/her by what he did, looks, attitude or many more reasons. Here, I'm gonna talk about someone who had influenced me and made me admire him mainly by his attitude and special abilities. He had made a great impact in the world history. His name is Adolf Hitler.
Adolf Hitler was born on April 20th 1889 in Austria. He is the youngest child of the family, as his two elder brother were useless so Adolf's father have great ambitions to his youngest son Adolf Hilter. Therefore, his father was so strict to him until he beats him up and abused him. Adolf's childhood life is just an hellicious experience. It became worst when Adolf told his father that he is interested in artistic studies. His father was furious with him because his father wanted him to be a civil servant and serve for the country. But soon after that, his father was deceased and passed away. Adolf is left alone with his mother which is a loving and caring person.
Adolf continues pursuing his dreams to be an artist. He was a very gifted child and always was the top student in class. But to his surprise, he was rejected by two high schools. Then he was finally enrolled into a school in Germany. He couldn't finish school because world war 1 occurred. He was forced to served for his country as front row man. He was the pulled out of the army due to injuries but awarded several medal of honour for bravery.
In the early 1930's, Adolf soon started this hatred towards the Jewish. It all started when his teachers, Jewish teachers always rejected his homework due to racism and Adolf claimed that the death of his mother was indirectly caused by Jewish doctors. In the year 1938, Adolf Hitler had his reputation and soon form this Nazi party and wanted overthrow the German goverment and wanted democracy. After he implemented 25 rules for the Nazi troops which also included the removal of Jews from the German society.
Hitler started his war in 1939, which is known now the world war ||. He started his dominance with Poland. With Adolf's great leadership and motivation, soon after, he conquered Netherlands, Denmark, Belgium, France and Britain. Adolf is a very powerful man and his looked upon of, but to many, he is just ruthless and coldblooded murderer. During this war time, Adolf have slain the total of 6 million Jews, no matter old, young, men or woman.
In the year 1945, Adolf hates the Soviet Union, which is Russia now. He soon started another attack which was his last and wanted to demolish the thinking of the communist. Unfortunately,
the soviet's saw him coming and soon, Adolf was captured in Berlin and his army lost. Adolf knew that this will be the last of his dominant years. In April 30th 1945, just 10 days after his birthday, Adolf and his wife committed suicide and it was end of him.
Therefore, the bravery that Adolf Hitler had and the way he led his small Nazi troop and conquered several hearts of Europe will always be a motivation to me and one day I wish that I would be as successful as him.
